Warehouse lighting

Lighting for warehouses and other big open buildings, laid out for high ceilings, racking and the work done underneath.

A warehouse is hard to light well. Fixtures hang high, racks and stored goods block the light, and a layout that worked years ago can leave dark aisles once the floor plan changes.

Good warehouse lighting puts enough light where people pick orders, read labels and drive forklifts. That takes fixtures made for your ceiling height, spaced to suit the racks, aisles and loading docks.

How it works

We walk the building with you and look at the ceiling height, the racking, the docks and any areas where people do close work. From there we plan the fixture layout and controls, and you get a free, written estimate before any work starts.

Working at height means lifts on your floor, so we plan the install around your operation. We can do one section at a time, and after-hours or weekend work can often be scheduled so trucks and staff keep moving.

Signs you need it

When to give us a call.

Any of these is a good reason to have us take a look.

01

Dark aisles between racks

Racking that went up after the lights did can block the light and leave aisles in shadow.

02

Fixtures out up high

When several high fixtures are out and each one means bringing in a lift, it may be time to look at the whole system.

03

Bright spots and dim gaps

Uneven light makes it harder to read labels and see hazards on the floor.

04

A new layout or use

New racking, a new pick area or turning storage into work space can call for a different lighting plan.

05

Lights on in empty sections

Areas that sit empty most of the day may be good candidates for occupancy sensors.

06

Slow starts and humming

Older fixtures that hum or take a while to reach full brightness are often near the end of their life.

How do you work out how many fixtures we need?

+
We look at the ceiling height, the size of the space, the racking and the work done in each area, then lay out fixtures to suit. The plan comes with your written estimate.

Can you work while we’re open?

+
Usually, yes. We can work one section at a time, and busy areas can often be done after hours or on a weekend.

Can different areas have different light levels?

+
Yes. A packing station or workbench may need more light than bulk storage, and we can light and switch those areas separately.

Do you light loading docks and the outside of the building?

+
Yes. Dock lights and wall-mounted lights over doors and loading areas can be part of the same job.

Is the estimate free?

+
Yes. You get a free, written estimate before any work starts.
