Equipment power installation

Power for new machines and production equipment, sized to the nameplate and connected safely before startup.

New equipment usually shows up with a nameplate rating, a wiring diagram and a date the plant wants it running. Getting it there takes a circuit sized for the load, a disconnect where operators can reach it, and a clean connection at the machine.

We install power for presses, compressors, conveyors, welders, pumps and other heavy equipment. We also move power when a line gets rearranged and machines need to go somewhere new.

How it works

We look at the equipment’s specs and where it will sit, then check whether your existing panel and feeders can carry it. If they can’t, we tell you what it would take and include that in your written estimate.

The final connection, and any shutdown it needs, is scheduled at a time that suits your production. Before the machine is started, we check voltage and motor rotation with your team or the equipment installer.

Signs you need it

When to give us a call.

Any of these is a good reason to have us take a look.

01

New equipment on order

Planning the power before the machine arrives keeps it from sitting idle on the floor.

02

Rearranging a line

Moving equipment usually means moving or rerunning its circuit and disconnect.

03

Machines on cords or temporary feeds

Equipment running off cords or a temporary hookup should have a proper hardwired circuit.

04

Motors running hot

A motor that runs hot or struggles can point to low voltage or an undersized circuit.

05

A breaker that trips at startup

If a machine trips its breaker when it starts, the circuit may not suit the load.

06

Used equipment from another plant

Secondhand machines may need a different voltage or connection than your building has.

Can you wire for equipment before it arrives?

+
Often, yes. With the spec sheet or nameplate information we can run the circuit and disconnect ahead of time and make the final connection once the machine is set.

What information do you need from us?

+
The equipment’s voltage, phase and amperage, usually from the nameplate or manual, and where it will go on the floor.

Our building doesn’t have the right voltage for a machine. What are the options?

+
It depends on the machine and the power you have. Sometimes a transformer solves it, and sometimes it makes more sense to change the supply. We’ll go over the options with you.

Do you work with the rigger or equipment installer?

+
Yes. We coordinate with whoever is setting the machine so the power is ready when they are.

How do we get a price?

+
Call us with the equipment details. We’ll look at the site and give you a free, written estimate.
