Ernul is a small, unincorporated community on US 17 between Vanceboro and New Bern. For us it’s close to home, since our base is up the road in Vanceboro. Homes here sit on country lots, with a mix of site-built houses and manufactured homes, and some have a shop or shed out back.
A lot of homes in this area run on private wells. When the well pump stops, the house stops with it: no water for the sink, the shower or the toilet. Pump circuits are one of the calls we treat as urgent.
Wells, pedestals and older mobile homes
If your water quits, the cause might be a tripped breaker, a bad pressure switch or a problem in the wiring to the pump. We test the electrical side, find where the power stops and fix it. Pump circuits sit outdoors and in damp well houses, so the connections and breaker wear out like anything else. If the pump motor itself has failed, that’s a job for a well contractor, and we’ll tell you so.
Manufactured homes usually get their power from a pedestal or pole near the home, which then feeds the panel inside. Those setups take a beating from weather over the years. We repair and replace pedestals and feeders, and upgrade older panels that can’t carry what the home runs now.
